Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer
Troy is the Sponsorship & Fundraising Officer for Ryerson University’s Student Affairs Department. He’s responsible for seeking alternative sources of revenue and creating strategic partnerships to enhance student development. He gained his sales and sponsorship experience while working with Global Spectrum Facility Management, reopening Maple Leaf Gardens now known as the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Similar to the current sponsorship landscape in Canadian Student Affairs, Troy established a self-sustaining revenue-generating model in Canadian University Athletics, and a roster of corporate partners that added value to the institution, Ryerson Athletics, and most importantly, Ryerson students.
He graduated with honours from Ryerson University in 2011, majoring in Marketing Management. During his undergrad, he was a member of the Ryerson Rams Men’s Varsity Hockey Team, a Student Athlete Mentor, United Way Student Leader, and Movember Team Captain. He was recognized for his dedication to athletics and volunteer work by being honoured with Ryerson Athletics’ Greatest Contribution to Campus and Community Life Award. He’s continuing his education by currently working towards an MBA part time at the Ted Rogers School of Management.
He’s passionate about sports, travel, and family. He played in the OHL & CIS. He backpacked throughout Europe, Southeast Asia, and Central America. He’s a newlywed and proud uncle to four ridiculously cute nephews.
